The live portion of this session begins on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
The skull formed in one piece with a raised, roped comb with fluting in the Maximilian taste. Pierced visor retained by a riveted spring, one for the upper visor and one for the ventail. Nape defense of four lames, fluted en suit, with a roped edge and plain band, with a deeply impressed touchmark, possibly the touchmark of the city of Nuremburg, but unclear. Armor of a good homogenous appearance throughout with mitten gauntlets, Maximilian fluting, and roped edges. Arm assemblies retained by keyhole slots and turning pins affixed to top lame of pauldron. The culet is discordant with the balance of the piece, and is likely an addition done to complete the piece. CONDITION: Cleaned in the European fashion now turned to a grey patina. Couters appear to be of more recent vintage. Mounted to a half body which has been secured to a plinth for display. The leather has frozen and the suit has not been removed from the plinth to avoid damage. A very interesting and well presenting suit.
