9" blade finely forged with punch decoration on flattened ricasso. The iron hilt, once blued, with downturned quillons and large finger ring. A pommel of balluster form, once blued. Spirally fluted grip bound with copper and silver wire. CONDITION: The blade is polished bright with no real pitting remaining. Quillons appear to retain traces of original bluing, as does pommel. The most remarkable feature of this dagger is the grip, which has the most elaborate treatment of alternating braided copper and silver wire with silver wire Turk's heads. The most elaborate dagger grip wrap we have yet observed.
