Mokume hada with areas of jinie and chikei throughout, hamon looks like hako-midare with deep valleys, some of which almost touch the ha, and has plenty of hataraki including sunagashi. Boshi is a notare komi. Gold foil brass habaki, made in one piece, to resemble a two piece. In a modern shirasaya, and accompanied by a Japanese Art Swords Record of Sword attributing the blade to Sengo, noting Ise province, Tenmon period, and specifically names Muramasa and Masashige. CONDITION: In good polish with visible features throughout. Monouchi with some pinprick oxidation, and there are some scattered ware and surface scratches.
