Signed "A(ndrew) Wurflein, Philadelphia" target rifle (or "plains/commercial" rifle) half-stock with 34 1/2" octagonal barrel, back action lock. The walnut stock has brass hardware and a brass four piece patch box with pierced side plates and a pine-apple finial indicative of Philadelphia guns of the 1850-60 period.Also there is a pine-apple finial on the 6" long brass toe plate. The walnut stock has an old surface with no breaks but shows its usage.
