Second half 19th century, France. This fine unsigned bronze, cast as the figure of a Native American woman seated in a canoe with draping fish net, holding a double ended paddle. Note: The sculptor cast two versions, the first, "Allegory of Hunting" depicting a male figure in a canoe, and the second, "Allegory of Fishing" as is this example. Good untouched olive brown patina. End of paddle with slight bend in shaft. Otherwise very good condition.
