One of the foremost doll house makers in the Lancaster region, Mr. Brubaker was a retired poultry farmer who died in 2012. Between 1979 and 1999, he made a total of 102 doll houses, which were sold mostly at charity auctions. Of all the doll houses in existence, the Brubaker doll houses are considered among the best. This is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece, known as the Scarborough model, and was sold at the Lancaster Mennonite School Benefit Auction in 1989 and was the largest doll house Brubaker ever built. A 3-story doll house with a double wraparound porch, 4' tall and 3' wide, with thousands of pieces, including operable windows, individual parquet floors and individual roof shingles. Doll house contains operable electric lights on all 3 floors. It was feature in Lancaster newspapers several times in November 1989 and again in October of 2017. This is truly a museum-quality piece. It weighs approximately 75 pounds and sold for $2000 in 1989. A unique piece in wonderful condition.
