The title panels are blue flashed glass, wheel cut to clear. The front panel is red flashed glass, cut to clear with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts's seal: the image of a heraldic symbol of an arm gripping a cutlass over the image of a Native American holding a bow in one hand and an arrow in the other. Partially encircling this vignette is a banner with the state motto "Ense Petit Placidam Sub Libertate Quietum" which translates to "By the sword we seek peace, but peace only under liberty". The two side panels are blue flashed glass, wheel cut to clear with "Nathaniel Seaver 22". The rear panel is clear glass with an engraved federal shield with stars and stripes and a floral pattern. All panels are in the shape of a federal shield. From a steam fire engine, most likely an Amoskeag. A stunning piece of work from the Boston Fire Department. The burner is missing. Plating had been nickel or silver but is mostly gone. Otherwise, in very fine condition. From the Ray Bentley Collection.

Condition: (Very Good - Excellent).

Item Dimensions: 8" x 8" x 20 - 1/2".
