20th century British bicorn hat for court or ceremonial occasions. Plush-covered press board body, trimmed with black grosgrain binding, black grosgrain ribbon cockade and silver bullion loop with gilt button bearing royal cipher on face. Ends trimmed with gold bullion tassels. Black lining. No makers label. Hat in very good condition with exception to worn plush at the base of the hat. Original tin carrying case with top handle and bottom latch. Brass plaque of "Humprey & Son - Tailors & Outfitters, 3 Haymarket [London]". Shows small dents, paint lose, scratches and partial paper lining.
