This is a very heavy whale bone "going ashore" cane. This type of cane was usually reserved for the captain of the vessel. The type of bone used is called Panbone. Panbone is the strongest part of a whale's jaw bone. The top is fashioned from the tooth of a whale. The cane was soaked in tea to achieve the beige color. There are two solid gold eyelets. The overall length is 34 - 3/4". It never had a ferrule.

Condition: (Excellent).
