Circa 1880–1890, American, carved and polychrome-painted wood tobacconist's advertising figure depicting a fashionably dressed young woman in elaborate late-Victorian costume, modeled with broad hat, fitted bodice, puffed sleeves and full bustle skirt with traces of decorative painted ornament, her left hand gathering the skirt and her raised right hand prominently displaying a small cigarette package. The full-length figure stands on a square molded wooden advertising base with hand-lettered panels reading “Cigarettes,” creating an unusually direct and visually appealing example of late 19th century tobacco trade advertising. CONDITION: Attractive old painted surface with scattered abrasions, soiling, age cracks and areas of paint loss consistent with age and commercial use; wear particularly evident at the extremities and lower portions of the dress. Base exhibits expected wear and surface losses with advertising lettering remaining clear and legible. Overall structurally sound and displaying well.

This is not a standard shippable item and will require 3rd party shipping or pickup arrangements to be made.
