In a letter from the 1983 Cassius Clay trainer Joe Martin details the origins of the jump rope "I bought this jump rope for Cassius and he learned to skip rope with it like no other". The rope has white athletic taped handles and is stamped "Columbia Gym" in blue. "Clay" is written in red at the top of each handle (not autographed). The rope is accompanied by a letter copy from Joe Martin detailing its sale in 1983 and a letter of opinion from Craig Hamilton.
