Very clean and presentable Browning machine gun tripod model of 1918 as manufactured by the Standard Equipment Company of Cleveland, Ohio. Original data plate with serial number (800018) (perhaps an extra “8” strike) intact on rear leg. Attachment pin present at front cradle, but no attachment pin present at elevation shaft. CONDITION: Original paint remains extremely fine with typical dust and some brown patina from years of storage. Presents very well. Mechanics are extremely fine. An uncommon tripod from the World War I era and very appropriate for early Browning water cooled machine guns. JWK 2024-05-104.
