Trunks worn by a young Cassius Clay while training at the Columbia Gym in Louisville, KY. These purple satin trunks manufactured by Post have the words "LOU KY" on the left leg piping. They are marked on the interior "C.C." for Cassius Clay and are stamped "Columbia Gym". Attached to the interior is a vintage tag that reads "VERY EARLY PAIR OF BOXING TRUNKS WORN BY CASSIUS CLAY COLUMBIA GYM CIRCA 1954". The reverse is stamped "From the desk of Joe Martin Columbia Gym Louisville, KY". There is a photo of a young Clay wearing similar lettered trunks by the same manufacturer. Ali collector Peter Markovian has supplied a letter detailing their history. Also accompanied by a letter of opinion from Craig Hamilton
