C. 1860. This is a very early Nicole Freres key-wind cylinder music box, playing four tunes on an 8" cylinder. It has the serial number 25199 on the bed plate. CONDITION: It is clearly marked "Nicole Freres" comb with no repairs or breaks. It shows a patina to the brass elements, as well as an early basswood cabinet with interior mahogany staining and original tune card. It works and plays with very desirable tone.
