3” Length. Having a flattened, oval-shaped body and finished in unusual yellow with interspersed black and red dots, this striking bait originating from the Heddon Factory Archives dates to about 1905. Made well before the Dummy Double was introduced, you can see Heddon’s process of innovation at work here, with both side treble hooks having one hook point turned in on itself. Also not found on any of their production baits is the partially embedded, pinned ball belly weight. The minnow would run as photographed, despite the gill marks appearing on the forehead in this orientation, an indicator that it was used for research only. Both white iris glass eyes are solid and the condition is Very Good Plus, with a hint of oxidation and verdigris on the hardware. The feathered rear treble is showing wear from use. You can find more on this unique and important piece of fishing history in the Heddon Legacy book on page 178.
Item Dimensions: 3" long.
