The live portion of this session begins on Friday, October 16, 2026.
CONDITION: Showing original red paint and original lettering, areas of paint loss, some surface rust and oxidation to all five elements. These “barebacks,” have holes in all 4 corners and impressions on their backs of the crisscrossing rods which were used to stake them into the ground. Comes with a significant amount of research and provenance to the authenticity of this set dating it to the “1960s.” There are only 8 non-rhyming sets known (2 in 1927, 4 in 1928, 1 in 1929 and 1 in 1930), all later 603 signs having a jingle. No signs were put up after 1963 which is when Burma-Shave was sold to Phillip Morris, strongly suggesting this was a nostalgic commemorative, final, and farewell roadside set of 1963.

Condition: (7.5).
