Usually found as a stiff neck fashion this example feathers a swivel bisque head on bisque shoulder plate. Doll attributed to Barrois. Doll has dark black inset glass eyes, turned up nose, and open mouth with white porcelain teeth in upper and lower row. Brown leather fashion body with separately stitched figures and straight legs. Elaborately costumed in what could easily be an original outfit representing a region of North Africa with multi-colored and layered fabrics. Long braided wig and tightly woven design down to the buttocks. Overall an exceptional piece with exceptional quality bisque.
