Archival framed and matted typed letter dated June 2, 1896 and signed by Theodore Roosevelt on New York City Police Department letter head. Site 8 1/2" x 11". Overall 22" x 18 1/2". Letter is addressed to Col. William Cary Sanger. Roosevelt discusses the merits of the 45.90 Winchester, but allows as how he is thinking of getting one of the new .303 Winchesters. He wishes Sanger luck on his hunting trip. The letter has hand notated corrections and additions. Ensemble has a photograph of Roosevelt in buckskins holding a Winchester across his lap. CONDITION: The letter has two creases from being folded. Frame edges have some nicks. Otherwise very good as framed. CG
