This tall case clock features a musical movement which consists of a total of 46 pipes and three military carved and painted band figures. The bonnet, with swan's neck crest above the arched glass panel door is flanked by colonnettes with baluster-turned capitals. The bonnet has hinged doors on left and right sides, which give access to the mechanism and clock movement when it is assembled. The bonnet, joined to the lower case, with central door faced with Circassian walnut decoration. The box base, with central applied panel, the whole raised on ogee bracket feet. The large wood face with 11-1/2" integral dish dial and roman numeral chapter ring within a painted column and drapery polychrome stage, beneath a recessed mirrored back stage, within which play the three musicians. This stage is flanked by floral filled urns and is set beneath a military painted cresting of flags and drums all beneath a royal crown. The clock is accompanied by three weights, a pendulum, and winder. The case retains original surface, with rich, mellow patina, one glass panel in the bonnet is cracked and needs to be replaced. The movement is of unknown working condition. From a private New Jersey collection.
