German World War II Luftwaffe M35 single decal helmet marked "Q64" for "F.W. Quist" in a size 64 shell size with the lot number of "3103". Helmet exterior retains 60-65% of a darker prewar smooth blue-gray overpaint, exposing the earlier lighter blue-gray factory coat. Interior retains 85-90% of the earlier smooth blue-gray paint with light freckling. National colors decal was removed exposing the earlier blue-gray paint. Luftwaffe eagle decal retains 60-65%, with varnish remaining in the undamaged sections. Leather intact liner is original to the helmet, and is dark with light to moderate rim wear and fraying. Drawstring is missing and all 8 leather tongues are intact. Liner has an interested embossed stamp which is marked "Z64" over "56" (liner size) with a manufacturer in "Braunschweig". An illegible German name is written in pencil on the liner. Original aluminum liner band is present, and is cracked through on both side just in front of the chinstrap mount. It is unsure why it is cracked, and the rivets are untouched and tight. Most of the blue-gray paint has worn off the brass rivets. Parts of the chinstrap are present, and approximately 3" of the tip is missing. CONDITION: Overall very good. WEZ
