Impressive young lady doll with open mouth, 35" (90 cm) with head incised in back "1907 16." She has blue glass sleep eyes, open mouth with six molded into the head upper teeth, pierced earlobes, painted tiny lower lashes with lighter colored upper lashes and remnants of silk eyelashes. Eyelashes are thick multi-stroke and evenly matched in arch. Original heavy French fully articulated wood and composition body, bearing mostly original finish with typical paint flecks on the fingers and nails. She is well costumed in a pink ribbed cotton dress coat with large buttons on top going to mid-calf level. Underneath the pink coat is a thin gauzy cotton dress with embroidered features and silk etching. Shoes are well constructed indigo leather with rosettes, but not as old as the doll. She maintains a French human hair brown wig, which covers a newer pate constructed out of Styrofoam-type material to copy the what would have been a cork pate originally.
