DSP. A scarce and early C. 1930's Porcelain Service Station Sign for Gulf Supreme Motor Oil showing early Gulf shaded lettering as well as unique Gulf colors. CONDITION: Side one shows excellent color and gloss throughout the field showing bright lettering with large Gulf Disc graphic. Side one shows approximately five areas of small touchups in the inner field as well as some minor areas of light surface scratching and haziness in the blue. The outer edge shows minor touchup at the lower left and overall side one displays excellent, Grade 8.25+. Side two also shows excellent color and gloss but shows multiple areas of light chipping in the inner field, some of which have been nicely touched up. The outer field of side two shows a few light BB chips and shows clean Supreme Motor Oil lettering. Side two shows light chipping along the outer edge but overall displays very well, Grade 8.0. Well displaying example of this scarce sign from Gulf.
