A gorgeous seascape oil on panel painting depicting a scene of New York Harbor with steamboat, masterfully painted by Guy Carleton Wiggins (American, 1883 - 1962). Signed in lower-right corner and nicely mounted in elaborate carved ornate gold gilt and silver wood frame. In excellent vintage condition consistent with age and use. Guy Carlton Wiggins was born in New York and had a very long career as a landscape painter. His amazing artworks can be found in many public collections throughout the United States, including: the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C; the Reading Museum, Pennsylvania; the Art Institute of Chicago, and many others.
