Outstanding German 1898 Dress Quillback bayonet with scabbard. Blade handle and quillon are finished in bright nickel. Walnut grips are oil finished with nine grasping grooves. Black leather scabbard has nickel finished throat and tip. Blade ricasso has simple "Knights Head" makers mark. Blade measures 20-1/2" long with overall being 26". Scabbard is full length. CONDITION: Very fine with all nickel finish remaining with very light finish crazing around release button. Scabbard is equally fine with leather being very live with insignificant scuffing. Tip and throat are slightly tarnished. Scabbard frog is black leather with finish alligatoring and in need of preservation.
