19th century, American. The carving depicting an eagle perched with outspread wings and tail, head inclined to proper left with partially open beak. Iron ring attached to back for hanging. Lower body with hole for mounting. Original gilding. Surface original and now dry. Tail with repaired horizontal crack along tail.
