DSP. Sign is Maker Marked Cameo, Los Angeles. A bright and colorful example of this scarce and highly sought after Porcelain Sign from Hancock Gasoline showing Hancock's unique strutting Rooster graphic as well as bold script throughout each side. CONDITION: Side one shows outstanding color and gloss throughout the field showing an excellent condition Rooster graphic as well as clean lettering. Side one shows a minor surface rub in the "NC" of Hancock as well as minimal areas of light surface scratches in the outer field. Side one shows moderate chipping at the outer edge mounting holes but overall displays very well, Grade 8.9+. Side two is also in excellent condition showing excellent color and gloss throughout the field with a clean Rooster graphic. Side two shows three areas of very minor chipping in the field as well as rub markings through the "ANC" of Hancock. Side two shows a clean outer field with areas of moderate chipping at the mounting holes as well as chipping at the right outer edge. Overall side two displays very well, Grade 8.75. The top mounting hole shows an area of tear out but does not distract from the colorful and graphic fields of the Sign. An excellent example of this highly sought after piece of West Coast Porcelain Service Station Signage from Hancock Gasoline.
