HEDDON 1300 THIN BODY BLACK SUCKER

This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/25/2025

According to the authors of The Heddon Legacy, there are only a “couple” examples in this form known to exist and that this thin-bodied version is thought to be the very first version of the Black Sucker. This example is 5 - 1/2” long and features a cup-rigged belly treble set among five belly weights, and the rear hanger is a simple screw eye. Marked front tube prop and perfect glass eyes. Finished in the “Sucker” pattern, the white belly turns to more of a bone color along the sides, then fades to olive on the back. The light silvery sheen along the sides makes it unique. Overall, it grades strong Very Good Plus or slightly better.

Item Dimensions: 5 - 1/2" length.
