SSP. A rare and stunning example of this C. 1930's single sided porcelain sign from Avio Gasoline featuring a wonderful winged "A" graphic across the top. A product of Midwest Gasoline, Avio was a short lived aviation brand that is seldom seen today. CONDITION: The field of the sign retains good color and gloss. There are scattered porcelain chips throughout the field, many of which have touch up. The bottom section of the sign below "Midwest" shows heavy wear and touch up. There is an occasional surface scuff and wear to the gloss. The outer edges show porcelain loss and wear throughout, along with some touched up areas and occasional oxidation staining. The mounting holes show wear but are nonetheless solid. A rare and impressive piece of petroliana history.
