Belt loops and "D-ring" attachments are in brown leather. Web belt loops on left pouch has somewhat legible 3-digit codes and markings, while right pouch exhibits legible stamped 3-digit codes and markings under flap. An exceedingly rare set of German WWII MP44 magazine pouches that would be difficult to upgrade. CONDITION: Overall very good to extremely fine.

ADDENDUM: Great News! These magazine pouches were personally examined by John Cross of Great Britain while at the Small Arms Review (SAR) Show in Phoenix December 1-2, 2023 and Mr. Cross declared them to be absolutely authentic pre-May 1945, and identical to a pair in his personal collection which he knows to be authentic. In addition, Mr. Cross verified to this cataloger that there is yet another set of pouches identical to these in the collection of a noted and advanced American collector. John Cross gave this cataloger permission to make this addendum quoting him to the catalog description. Collectors should not miss this opportunity to acquire this exceptional set of magazine pouches authenticated by a universally respected authority on late-war German “sheet-metal” machine guns, as well as accessories of the Mkb-42, MP-43, MP-44, and STG-44 family of machine guns.
