AGS CERTIFIED #11221. DSP. A very rare C. 1930's double sided porcelain sign from Independent Oil featuring the iconic eagle graphic. CONDITION: Side 1 shows good color specifically in the eagle graphic. The gloss is slightly dull and there are surface scratches throughout the field with a few isolated areas of porcelain chipping as well. The outer edges show heavy oxidation and porcelain loss and wear (SCORE 68). Side 2 displays nicely with one porcelain chip to the eagle graphic. The outer field also shows isolated areas of porcelain loss. The outer edges show damage and porcelain loss throughout. There is one non-factory mounting hole along the bottom right edge of this sign as well. In total, this rare piece is seldom seen in any condition and it would be a challenge to find another (SCORE 68).
