Large American cast-iron horse-drawn firefighting toy featuring a long, black-painted openwork ladder wagon drawn by a pair of galloping horses, one finished in white and the other in dark brown or black (very little remaining paint). Fitted with painted cast-iron firemen seated at the rear, a driver at the front, large orange-painted spoked wheels, an articulated front carriage, chain harnesses, a bell, and four long removable ladders mounted beneath and within the wagon body. Decorative cast side rails feature repeating circular and cross-braced motifs.
