Jacob van Ruisdael (1628/29 – 1682), original oil on board painting depicting a summer landscape scene with a village and mill in the distance. Peasant figures stand by an old home, church steeple visible in the background and animals on the field. Image sight 13 - 1/4" wide x 10 - 1/8" high. Signed on verso by artist in pencil "J. Ruisdael". Nicely housed in what looks like an original ornate gold gilt wood frame. This masterpiece is in good condition for its age. Board is showing signs of paint wear and loss, some crazing, scuffing, dust particles and other wear, no repairs or touch-ups had been done. Frame is still in good shape, although with many hairlines.
