Lot #1430:
JEANETTE HAWLEY’S MOHAWK CRACKER IN BOX
Page 30 in The Heddon Legacy gives a glimpse into the history of this incredibly rare combo. About 1905, Will & Laura Heddon were selling “Mohawk Casting & Trolling” lures from their home in Florida. The Cracker was one of the more unique offerings, appearing as an extra-large version of Heddon’s “Killer” wooden minnow. Finished in White, Red Tips and with 3 belly weights, this circa 1905 bait features unstamped tube props and oversized hooks, and grades Very Good to Very Good Plus. The incredibly rare wood box still bears the Hawley paper label, and is in about Very Good condition with only a few small tears and stains. The box itself is solid all around and believed to be the only wooden example currently known, and this combo is easily among the rarest in the collection. From the Stephen & Christine Rebic collection. 3 - 1/2" Lure
Item Dimensions: Box: 6" x 2 - 1/2" x 1 - 3/4".
