C.1892. A J.E. Carpenter Horse-Drawn Cast-Iron Fire Pumper, No. 53. The toy is constructed primarily of cast iron and features a steam-pumper body with large spoked wheels, boiler and pumping apparatus, a seated driver, and a pair of horses fitted with harness chains and reins. Its original red, black, gold-toned, and metallic painted surfaces show considerable age-related wear, oxidation, paint loss, and patina. Overall, in fantastic condition.
