1905, GERMANY: The Kalliope model 200 is a stunning musical instrument, playing 64.5cm (25 - 1/4") discs across 158 broad steel teeth, accompanied by 12 saucer bells. Kalliope music boxes were known for their excellent tonal quality, and this example is no exception, with a resounding and agreeable tone. The instrument is housed in a beautiful walnut cabinet with original finial marquee, applied carvings and turned columns, with an original base storage cabinet. 15 discs are included. CONSIDERATIONS: The walnut cabinet is in excellent condition with little signs of wear or use. The instrument plays beautifully and operates correctly with a coin. The duplex comb shows no defects or repairs, and has an added distributors plaque marked "A. Brandenburger, Berlin O.". Simply a beautiful looking and sounding music box.
