This socket head is incised “K&R Simon & Halbig 115/A42” with brown glass sleep eyes, closed mouth with a dimpled chin, painted upper and lower lashes, feathered eye brows, mounted to an earlier German wood and composition body “Sonnerberg” style. He wears an antique blue and white two piece linen sailor type costume carrying a drum with a blond mohair wig and a hat which matches the costume, along with an American cloth flag. Head is very good with a few very slight typical surface wig pulls; body finish appears original with an overall 17-1/2” (45 centimeters).
