8-3/4" barrel, .60bore Ketland produced quality single shot pistols at the turn of the 18th century with many destined for the American colonies. It is a no nonsense, quality made single shot pistol. The barrel is stamped London but has the Belgium proof mark, the lock is stamped Ketland and Co. The pistol has been converted from flintlock to percussion sometime in the mid 19th century and the hammer was replaced at that time. Has the full octagon brass barrel with a nice aged appearance with some indentations, lock and hammer are patina, simple one piece stock has been striped of its finish and has a crack to the left wrist and right grip, has a brass pummel and trigger guard with 2 thimbles.
