This is a large modern made - although very old - steel tube cannon in the style of popular 19th Century cannons of the pre-1860 era. Its tube is 40" long and the bore diameter is 2-5/16". The firing mechanism utilizes a percussion cap ignition system with a hammer-type striker. Once the cannon is muzzle loaded, one places a percussion cap on the nipple and then pulls the lanyard while standing on the right side of the cannon next to the wheel. This compresses a spring and the release of the lanyard allows the striker to hit the percussion cap with force to detonate the cap. Hardwood rammer, and pike handle with steel worm are included accessories. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish of metal parts is good with brown patina and scale. Metal tires of wheels in good serviceable condition. Smooth bore is dark with light pitting. Wood of carriage is strong and serviceable with some cracks to the hubs from weathering. Metal hardware very good with over 80% enamel paint coverage, with brown patina in places. Steel carriage bolts exposed at center of carriage under tube. This is an over-sized item and will require third party shipping. This would be an impressive piece at any range or fourth of July event. JWK

This is not a standard shippable item and will require 3rd party shipping or pickup arrangements to be made.

Item Dimensions: 46" x 92" x 60".
