An extensive newspaper archive that was used for research purposes by noteworthy collector and historian Dr. John K. Lattimer. The collection is ample and spans from the Revolutionary War era through the War of 1812. There are also several that date into the 20th century; the majority appears to date from the 18th-19th centuries. Many of the papers include articles regarding famous historical figures and notable events in both American and world history. There are also papers concerning medical innovations, as medical history was a keen interest of Dr. Lattimer. This is an excellent archive that provides a plethora of primary sources that would be crucial for an active historian. The papers also present quite well and some contain graphics that could be framed for display. CONDITION: The newspapers exhibit blemishes that are typical of old paper, including but not limited to, foxing, yellowing, fading, edge wear, rips, fold lines, etc.
