Hard to find 14 Jumeau, 31" (79 cm), with lovely deep brown eyes, closed mouth with well-outlined lips, well-painted lashes and brows and separately applied ears with pierced lobes. Back of the head red stamp reads "Depose Tete Jumeau 14." Bisque coloring is somewhat rosy - sometimes referred to as "peaches and cream" complexion - with slightly redder cheeks. She is mounted to the original French wood and composition fully-jointed body, no marking found, but obviously original. There is a slight bit of repaint here and there, especially on hands, but very well done and most likely a long time ago. She wears a silk lace and cutwork dress and antique slip, but no undergarments. She has knee-length white silk socks and wears very nice unusual antique pink canvas shoes. Stamped on the soles, "15 Paris Depose" and recognized Jumeau bumblebee logo. Wig is newer long blonde human hair wig over original cork pate. Old, well-restored hairline center forehead, which is very hard to see until a light is inserted in the interior. Nevertheless, an impressive doll with damage not seen with hair fully in place. She comes in a period painted black rocking chair with spool backing and acorn finials on each protruding wooden support.
