Lot #2440:
LINEMAR MECHANICAL ROLLER SKATER POPEYE, NO. J-1531, WITH ORIG. BOX
C. 1950s. Linemar Mechanical Roller Skater Popeye, No. J-1531, a lithographed tin wind-up toy licensed by King Features Syndicate and manufactured in Japan by Linemar. The toy depicts Popeye on roller skates holding a plate of spinach. He retains his original fabric pants, which show mild age-related yellowing and wear. Popeye’s left arm, which holds the plate of spinach, is somewhat loose. The toy exhibits minor surface scratching and scattered oxidation, particularly along the crimped seam edges, but remains functional. The original box has a small tear measuring about 1/2" near the center of the right-side lid flap, along with expected age-related creasing and edge wear. Overall, excellent condition.
Condition: (Excellent).
Item Dimensions: Box: 7" x 4 - 1/2" x 3".
