A lock of hair, that appears as 2 separate locks, contained in a black bordered mourning envelope with inscription that reads "Hair of Stonewall Jackson / Given me by M.G. / Aug '74". The envelope remains intact with staining and scattered blemishes. Ink exhibits slight fading. There are various pin holes that penetrate the front of the envelope through the seal flap suggesting that the envelope was once tacked for display. This hair was once part of the Dr. John K. Lattimer Collection. Lattimer was known to collect hair from notable historic figures. CONDITION: Good.
