The "London Pistol Company" was a trade name used by the Manhattan Firearms Manufacturing Company (later the American Standard Tool Company) of Newark, New Jersey, and Norwich, Connecticut, to market their .31 caliber pocket and .36 caliber navy percussion revolvers which closely copied Colt designs. These revolvers were manufactured between 1858-1862. This example closely resembles a Colt 1849 pocket revolver and has a silver post front sight, a roll marked barrel that reads "London Pistol Company". Frame is marked Colts Patent. The cylinder has a worn stagecoach scene and a British proof. CONDITION: The revolver exhibits a pleasing deep plum patina overall. Various dents and handling marks throughout. The bore is dark with scattered corrosion throughout. The rifling is worn. Hammer notches are present and the revolver mechanically functions.
