Lot consists of: (A) Austrian 8th Hussar Regimental bugler shako. Red wool body with patent leather trim, gilt Austrian eagle helmet plate, red horse hair plume, and leather chinstrap. Leather sweatband is present and supple but exhibits service wear and a few breaks. Quality blue cloth lining with paper label sewn at crown that exhibits hand written name and unit. The label is partially legible. The shako exhibits wear with blemishes throughout. CONDITION: Good. (B) Hungarian M1909 Hussar shako. Black wool body with patent leather trim, brass helmet plate, brass cockade, yellow horse hair plume, and yellow piping around crown. Leather sweatband is present but exhibits heavy wear. Red wool lining. The shako exhibits wear with blemishes throughout. CONDITION Good.
