Lot consists of: (A) M1858 Civil War era Union artillery shell jacket. Raised gold bullion stripes may be post-war addition for militia unit or costume use. CONDITION: Jacket shows moderate to heavy wear and is missing most of its inside lining. (B) Civil War enlisted forage cap with brass Union cavalry crossed saber insignia to crown. CONDITION: Cap is in fair condition with most of its sweatband missing, and silk lining loose and torn. Warrants restoration to stabilize it for display.
