Both of these items are similar in construction, in that you have two dancing figures, each atop a wooden box in chest-like form made of oak with stencil-painted front on both, one figure of a girl in very good condition, the other somewhat worn. In the rear of the box, there is a hole to insert a key to activate the clockwork contained within, and on the left side of each is an on/off switch that, when pushed up, will cause the dolls to start dancing or stop dancing when depressed, assuming that the clockwork is wound tight enough prior. On the one, we have two wooden black females with loosely jointed heads, shoulders, hips, knees and ankles. When activated, the wires that support the figures drop down into the clockwork and makes them start jumping around, swiveling, dancing back and forth in multiple positions. They are purposely loosely jointed so that as they move, they shake and dance with an extreme looseness. On the one are two painted females. On the other is a painted female with ballerina-type costume, white painted gloves and decorated stockings from ankles to knees, her male counterpart wears silk shorts with suspenders, a permanently affixed red hat, stockings painted on the lower legs in similar style to the woman but with a slightly different color and design. This particular item is lacking one of the wires suspending one of the characters, so unless this is found or a substitute is improvised, this will not work. There is also no key and although it looks like they will probably work, it cannot be confirmed without testing with an appropriate size key. Figures are 5 - 1/2" tall; box from base to top is 4 - 1/2" tall and 6 - 1/2" long. CONDITION: Other than as noted above, very good paint and very good condition.

Condition: (Very Good).

Item Dimensions: Larger: 4 - 1/4" x 6 - 1/2" x 4".
