Lot consists of: (A) World War II US training Japanese Figure Target No. 1 that depicts a Japanese soldier in full uniform with rifle and bayonet. These targets were meant to be cut out so only the outline of the soldier would be visible during training. This example is complete and features its original instructions. Nicely framed with simulated bamboo borders and measures approximately 31 - 1/4" x 23 - 1/4". CONDITION: The poster exhibits yellowing, especially on the background. Colors exhibit fading. Corners remain crisp but exhibit pinholes at top left and top right. A very nice display of a seldom seen target. (B) World War II era Japanese Pacific Islands battle map. The map measures approximately 44" x 31" and exhibits tissue paper reinforced corners. Islands highlighted are the Yap, Truk, and Palau. Map was purchased by the consigner in 2005 from Japan. CONDITION: Map exhibits yellowing with obvious edge wear. Original fold lines evident. A nice and displayable map.
