Lot consists of a pair of armor toes measuring approximately 3 - 3/4" x 4 - 1/2" x 2". Raised medial ridge with a repousse geometric design, symmetrical about the ridge, appropriate to Maximilian armors circa 1500. Unusual more pointed toe instead of more common wide "bearpaw". Mounting holes along rear, one with 21 holes and other with 22. Example with 21 also has some partly stamped designs near mounting holes. CONDITION: Overall very good, with evidence of a European style cleaning with spotted darkness and some polishing marks. Some heavier oxidation around medial ridge. Interiors rough from the hammer.
