Lot consists of: (A) M1885 cavalry musician's dress coat. CONDITION: Excellent. Coat retains its original yellow worsted wool tape trim, and gold gilt federal eagle Horstmann Phila. back marked buttons. Quilted white and black polished cotton lining is solid and intact. There is an 8" period repair to the back and a 2" area of scattered moth damage between the first and second front buttons. (B) Scarce M1884 cavalry dress coat with federal eagle buttons and very rare matching trousers. Coat is lined in quilted tan cotton and shows light period wear. Trousers have the seat reinforced for heavy frontier use. CONDITION: Only a few tiny moth nips that are barely noticeable. Both are very good. PROVENANCE: Dr. Frank Wagner cavalry museum collection.
