Lot consists of: (A) Civil War M1860 style cavalry saber. Consigner states this saber was recovered from the Gettysburg Battlefield. CONDITION: Relic. (B) British Pattern 1853 Enlisted Dragoon Saber which was possibly imported by the Confederacy, as the consigner states that this sword was purchased from the estate of Zachariah Fleming Jones, who was born August 28, 1846, in Virginia, and enlisted in Company D, 43rd Battalion Virginia Cavalry, Mosby's Command in 1864 at age 17. Jones was involved in considerable action in northern Virginia with Mosby's Rangers, having his horse shot out from under him on numerous occasions. After Lee's surrender at Appomattox, Mosby disbanded his command, and Jones was paroled at Columbia, Virginia. CONDITION: Relic. (C) Civil War picket stake. CONDITION: Relic.
